Certain private companies offer services to Miami students. Miami does not have any relationship with these companies, and it does not endorse their use. All such travel is at the traveler's own risk, and Miami does not assume any responsibility or liability for such services.

Airline Service

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport
Approximately an hour south of Oxford in northern Kentucky off I-275

Dayton International Airport
Approximately an hour northeast of Oxford in Vandalia off I-70E

The Cincinnati and Dayton airports are the two major facilities located within the shortest distance to Oxford (approximately one hour). Ticket prices vary, however, so be sure to check for cheapest fares. Several travel agencies in Oxford provide personalized service.

Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) Chicago Bus Trip Charters
Bus service to Chicago area for Fall break (October), Thanksgiving break, Winter break, and Spring break. The Miami pick-up and drop-off location is the Goggin Ice Center, located at 610 Oak St. Bus stops in Chicago are located along the Tri-State Tollway: Lincoln Oasis, Hinsdale Oasis, O'Hare Oasis, Lake Forest Oasis, and McDonald's in Kenosha, Wisconsin (12214 7th St., Kenosha, WI 53142). Tickets are $125 round trip; space is limited. One-way tickets are not available.

This low-cost, daily express bus service operates out of Cincinnati. Buses depart from 4th and Race St. downtown. For reservations, call 877-462-6342 Monday–Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (CST), Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CST).

Transportation varies for different airports, check at time of scheduling where you can catch a shuttle to the Enterprise location at each airport.

Ride Share/Ride Board

An online Ride Board (available through myMiami on the "Student" tab) as well as the bulletin board located on the lower level of the Shriver Center (near the ATM machines) advertises rides needed and rides offered by students.

Getting Around Campus

Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA)

Students can get around campus using the BCRTA local and regional routes, which also provides transportation uptown, to several off-campus student housing areas, and to the Hamilton and Middletown campuses. Buses run daily during the fall and spring semesters, and students who present a valid Miami University ID pay no fare to ride on the local and regional routes.

BCRTA SafeRide—Established for the protection of students after dark, this service provides a safe escort for persons traveling alone during evening hours. On campus operation hours are from Monday through Saturday 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sunday 11 p.m. - 1 a.m. This is an on-campus service and does not run on or past College Corner Pike or Rt. 27. Students can call BCRTA at 513-785-5237 or 855-42-BCRTA (toll-free) for this service.

BCRTA ADA—Access Miami provides transportation for students with disabilities. During fall and spring semesters, Access Miami provides door-to-door transportation around campus and in the Oxford area. To utilize this service for more than three consecutive uses students must have the appropriate forms filled out by a doctor and given to the BCRTA for continued service. Students can call BCRTA at 513-785-5237 or 855-42-BCRTA (toll-free) for this service, which operates during the scheduled hours of regular BCRTA fixed route services.

    Located midway between Cincinnati and Dayton along I-75, the Voice of America Learning Center (VOALC) offers undergraduate and graduate courses and programs drawn from Miami's Regional and Oxford campuses.
