Mid-May Miami University policy requires vaccination for all communicable diseases listed on the Ohio K-12 vaccination schedule. You will receive detailed instructions for submitting this information on your myMiami admission checklist. To review the Ohio K-12 vaccination schedule, refer to the student health website or call the Student Health Center at 513-529-3000.
Mid-May Take placement tests for math and foreign language online. These tests will determine course placement in specific areas, but may also affect access to related courses (e.g., math placement affects course registration in chemistry, economics, etc.). As such, these tests are very important and deserve your careful attention. If you do not take placement tests at least five business days before your orientation session, your course registration will likely be disrupted.
May–June As soon as possible after graduation, have your high school counselor mail your final high school transcript, including date of graduation, to: Miami University, Office of Admission, 301 S. Campus Ave., Oxford, OH 45056. You will not be permitted to begin classes until your final transcript has been received and evaluated.
May–July If you're buying a new computer before coming to campus, check out Miami's student laptop program (with a special hardware, software, and service package).
Mid-May to August 1 Miami University requires health care insurance for all full-time Oxford students. To that end, Miami University bills all full-time students for Miami-sponsored Aetna Student Health Insurance. If you do not need this coverage, you must waive this insurance via the student health website. For questions, call the Student Health Center at 513-529-3000.
June Attend a day-and-a-half Summer Orientation session, where you will learn more about Miami and register for classes.
Mid-July Your bill for tuition and fees will be sent to your Miami email address (if you've registered for classes).
Late July Students living in university housing receive their housing assignments by email, which include their local address (residence hall), move-in, and roommate information.
Early August Payment is due for tuition and fees and room and board. Miami offers payment plans that allow families to budget each semester's bill over a period of three or four months. With Miami's monthly payment plan options, families incur a nominal enrollment fee and there are no interest charges. Enrollment does not requre a credit check. For more details, visit MiamiOH.edu/paymentplan
Thursday, August 24 First-year student move-in day.
Monday, August 28 First day of classes.
