The Mathematics and Statistics Scholars Program creates opportunities for top students to broaden their perspective, gain real-world experience, and prepare to become the evidence-based decision makers of the future. Scholars will be able to:

  • Conduct research or an independent study project with a faculty member.
  • Receive career mentoring in the fields of mathematics, statistics, and related areas from alumni working in the student’s area of interest.
  • Receive admission into a combined undergraduate-graduate program leading to a graduate degree in mathematics or statistics (provided minimum GPA requirements are met).
  • Have access to a chief academic adviser or faculty affiliate for advising beginning in the first semester of the Scholar’s first year.
  • Enjoy the opportunity to meet in small groups with invited speakers of the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics.

To be considered for the Mathematics and Statistics Scholars Program, you must select Mathematics, Mathematics and Statistics, Statistics, or Analytics as your first-choice major.
