What Can I Do with a Major in Botany?
Botany or plant biology in its simplest sense is the scientific study of plants; as such, its focus of study is broad and includes organisms ranging from microscopic algae to tall redwood trees and generally includes the study of fungi as well.
Botany majors*:

- use scientific equipment and instrumentation
- apply concepts and utilize formulas
- write proposals, reports, and articles
- use digital imaging and image analyses
Botany majors are highly successful at gaining admission into graduate and professional schools or entering the profession in education, industry, government, and non-governmental organizations.
