For 100 years, Scripps has been committed to understanding population changes and their impact on individuals and societies. For 50 of those years, we have focused on aging societies and making a positive difference in the lives of aging individuals, their families, and communities. To commemorate our centennial, Scripps Gerontology Center will host a formal celebration at Miami University on Friday, September 9, and Saturday, September 10.

E.W. Scripps, who sought to "bring to the level of common understanding the whole range of human knowledge," founded the Scripps Foundation for Research in Population Problems at Miami University in 1922. Today, Scripps Gerontology Center continues to honor that goal through excellence in research, education, and service.

In conjunction with the in-person September event, Scripps will host additional activities and events throughout 2022, celebrating milestones and achievements from the past century. Detailed information regarding these events will be coming soon.
