Dr. Fuehrer's orientation as a community psychologist is represented in experiential learning courses, consultation and scholarship that bring feminist principles to pedagogy, program development, and qualitative, narrative, action research projects. Fuehrer has been named Distinguished Educator in the College of Arts and Science, and Psi Chi Professor of the Year.


Ann Fuehrer is associated with the Food Studies Institute, and she supports stakeholders in local food systems who work for food security in the context of economic inequality. Fuehrer has authored 24 peer-reviewed articles and chapters, and chaired the doctoral work of 19 graduate students in the Department of Psychology.

She directed the Women’s Studies Program from 1990-1994.
