Braving new challenges, Miami's Inside Washington Program concludes a successful summer in Washington DC
This summer, 19 Miami undergraduates from a spectrum of majors spent an exhilarating ten weeks in Washington, DC for the university’s renowned Inside Washington Program -- one of the few such Miami programs that was able to proceed this year despite the ongoing pandemic.

Hardship or Hope? Miami students study the American Dream in small-town Iowa
Students in Miami's Researching Midwestern History course meet via Zoom to discuss their final project.As a Hispanic kid growing up in Storm Lake, Iowa, Matthew Marroquín had no concept of race. “I just knew that if I go over to this friend’s house, I say ‘hello’ to their mother in this way, and if I go to a different friend’s house, I had to learn ‘sabaideebor’ for Laos, or ‘xin chào’ for Vietnamese.”

Miami's Public Health program publishes results and recommendations from its contact tracing partnership with Butler County
Miami’s program in Public Health, which over the past year has trained over 130 students to work as contact tracers to help manage the COVID-19 pandemic, has published results of its collaborative efforts with the Butler County Health District in the Journal of Public Health Management & Practice.

Expanding the "ripple of hope": CAS celebrates the 2021 graduation of 1407 bachelor's and 233 master's students
As a promising reflection of a resurging economy and reduced pandemic restrictions, the newest College of Arts and Science members of Miami’s worldwide alumni network were congratulated in a two-part, socially distant, in-person ceremony on May 15 in Yager Stadium.
