A week of winter concerts: Ceremony of Carols; Wind Ensemble; Men's Glee Club and Collegiate Chorale

Winter concerts Dec. 1, 2 and 4 feature the Chamber Singers and Choraliers; the Wind Ensemble; and the Men's Glee Club and Collegiate Chorale.

Tickets, $7 general and $5 senior/student/youth, are available at the Miami University Box Office.

The Miami University Choraliers, directed by William Bausano, will present the annual candlelit performance of Benjamin Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols," with guest harpist Jacquelyn Davis.

A perennial favorite, the Choraliers have performed "A Ceremony of Carols" annually for nearly three decades.

The Chamber Singers will perform a variety of sacred choral works.

Wind Ensemble

7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, Hall Auditorium

The winter concert by the Miami University Wind Ensemble, directed by Gary Speck, will feature Percy Aldridge Grainger’s “Lincolnshire Posy,” based on English folk songs, and a new work by John Mackey, “Symphony for Band: Wine-Dark Sea.”

Men's Glee Club and Collegiate Chorale

7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, Hall Auditorium

Tickets, $10 general and $7 senior/student/youth, are available at the Miami University Box Office.

The Miami University Men’s Glee Club and Collegiate Chorale, directed by Jeremy Jones, will perform a variety of sacred choral music.

glee-club-posterThe Men's Glee Club will perform Eric Whitacre's “Lux Aurmque,” Franz Biebl's “Ave Maria,” and the popular Nigerian carol, “Betelehemu”, among other works.

The Collegiate Chorale will perform Mozart's “Regina Coeli” and Haydn's “The Heavens are Telling” from his oratorio "The Creation."

Student conductor Allison Georgas, a senior music education major, will conduct the Collegiate Chorale in Rachmaninoff's “Bogoroditse Devo.”
