Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering

Today, computers are in everything, everywhere. This fact is making computer scientists and software engineers indispensable. They are the ones leading the way in developing the next generation systems of mobile apps, virtual reality software, and computational biological analysis. They seek to understand society’s needs and, once they do, they create software systems that make a difference. As more of the world runs on software the need for these people will only continue to grow. CSE majors learn in-depth about cutting edge topics such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer graphics, image processing & computer vision, high performance computing, and cybersecurity. Is it any wonder that growth in the number of software developer positions is expected to increase 25% in the next ten years and that Baron's magazine recently identified Software Developer as "the best job in America" offering a median annual salary of $121,000, low stress, healthy work-life balance, and is "Also in High Demand."
