Students learn and explore in Europe

By Paige Smith

Students making a human pyramid in EuropeMiami Engineering students traipsed across Europe while learning thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.

The students were on the “Engineering in Europe” study abroad trip with Amy Yousefi, professor in the department of chemical, paper & biomedical engineering; and Mostafa Modir Rousta, instructor in the department of mechanical & manufacturing engineering.

Stops along the way included:

  • the BMW manufacturing plant and BMW Museum in Munich, Germany,
  • the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava, Slovakia,
  • the Freudenau Danube hydropower plant in Donauinsel, Austria, and
  • the Spittelau Waste Incineration Plant and History of Natural Science Museum in Vienna, Austria

When the students weren’t in class or going on the official trips, they were exploring and eating copious amounts of gelato. On weekends the students would take trips to other countries, including Hungary and the Czech Republic. Watch the Snapchat video they made of the last day of their trip for more information.
