Dr. Jim Kiper is stepping down as CSE department chair

Dr. Jim Kiper, chair of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering since 2010, is stepping down from his position.

For the last decade, Dr. Kiper has led the CSE department and oversaw an incredible 358% increase in students earning degrees from the department. He established the CSE Student Advisory Council as well as the CSE Art Purchase Award Program, among various other contributions. Dr. Kiper working with students on a computer

In addition to his accomplishments within CSE, Dr. Kiper has also been actively involved in campus-wide functions, including as a member of the University Senate and other leadership positions.

Dr. Kiper maintained connections with students by teaching throughout his tenure as chair, and will continue to do so as he hands over the reins to incoming department chair, Dr. Eric Bachmann.
