In the meantime, the RAPIDS grant has helped tremendously in enhancing our MME curriculum, strengthening training in robotics and automation for manufacturing enterprises.

Equipment like a metal printer and composite printer have significantly improved manufacturing capabilities.

“These give us a broad range of prototyping capabilities which are useful for student projects [and] research, as well as consulting projects,” Dr. Amit Shukla, MME department chair and professor, said.

Additionally, the acquisition of robotics and automation equipment revamped flexible automation work cells to include multiple platform collaborative robots and control systems for teaching and research.
