For three weeks in January, eight CEC students attended a workshop dedicated to exposing undergraduate students to hands-on work with process control and automation.
Maciej Wozniak is a master's computer science student in the computer science department. He is a recipient of a "Top 3 Presentation' award from the 2020 Graduate Research Forum, held virtually on November 1, 2020.
The scholarship, endowed by alumni Jim and Jane Menditto, is given annually to undergraduate students in the MME department who have demonstrated high academic performance, as well as achievement outside the classroom.
"[My goal is] really just finding a career where I can just grow and keep learning," she said. "I feel like it's a field that never stops evolving and never stops changing; so just something that I can continue learning along with."
Dotcom-Monitor's goal is to motivate and support female undergraduate students who are pursuing careers in the computing field by helping with the cost of higher education.
Each year, the Presidents Distinguished Service Award (PDSA) is given to a select group of students. These students are recognized for their outstanding service contributions to Miami, demonstrating leadership at its highest quality. Among the 20 students chosen to receive this year's PDSA award is senior mechanical engineering major, Inés Muñoz de Cote.
Lexie Adams, junior chemical engineering major, is one of only 396 students across the nation to receive this years Goldwater Scholarship, regarded as the most prestigious awards that an undergraduate STEM major can earn.
