Miami Receives International Education Diversity and Inclusion Award
Miami University has been awarded the Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion in International Education (EDIEE) Award at the Global Inclusion 2021 Conference of Diversity Abroad. Dr. Cheryl Young, associate vice president of Global Initiatives, accepted the award on behalf of the university.

Open door clothes closet aims to serve transgender and gender diverse students
Transgender and gender diverse individuals can face unique challenges and barriers when shopping for clothes. Miami University’s new gender-inclusive clothing space, located in the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI), aims to eliminate these barriers for students.

Day of Reflection: Commemorating 175th anniversary of the Miami Tribe's removal from their homelands
Miami Tribe of Oklahoma citizens, Miami Tribe students and the Miami University community walked from the Art Museum to the Myaamia Center at Bonham House as part of the Day of Reflection commemorating the 175th anniversary of the Miami Tribe's removal from their homelands."This ground beneath our feet is home, a place where countless generations of our ancestors left footprints as they lived their lives until a fateful period in the history of this country," Chief Lankford said. "And though Myaamia people had lived in this vast homeland region since time immemorial, the stroke of (President Andrew Jackson’s) pen permanently altered our destiny."
