The Department of Family Science and Social Work offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees plus three Miami Plan thematic sequences.
Undergraduate Programs
Social Work
The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) emphasizes client strengths and diversity and is fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) and is eligible for licensure by Ohio and other states.
Child Life Certificate
The Bachelor of Social Work prepares students to work with families from a lifespan and strengths-based perspective. Upon degree completion, students may be eligible to apply for provisional certification as a Family Life Educator from the National Council on Family Relations.
Minors
There are two minors offered in the department: Family Relationships and Child Studies.
Graduate Programs
Master of Arts in Social Work (MASW) program is fully accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of the full or part-time program are eligible for licensure in Ohio and other states.
Combined BS/M.Ed. Degree Bachelor of Science in Family Science and Master of Education in Educational Psychology.
