EHS Faculty Member Receives JRLE Best Article Award

With their work, Erica Fernandez and Samantha Paredes Scribner push the field to broaden in critical ways traditional conceptualization of educational leadership. Specifically, this research investigates leadership through the lens of community. In particular, their findings underscore the "multiple capitals associated with community cultural wealth" and remind leadership preparation programs that we need to "ensure that an asset based and critical framing of family and community engagement is threaded throughout the curriculum." This study is an exemplar of scholarship that is both discipline advancing and practitioner capacity enhancing.
