The English Language Learner Writing Center (ELL WC) encourages all multilingual students to schedule an appointment when you need assistance in improving any writing project, including papers, PowerPoint presentations, resumes and cover letters, and applications. The appointment lasts 45 minutes or less.

Our consultants are Miami undergraduate and graduate students from diverse majors. They can help you:

  • identify patterns of lexical, grammatical, and punctuation errors in your writing projects and learn how to correct them
  • discuss possible options for effectively communicating your ideas through the accurate use of linguistic means and help you make the final decision about the options
  • learn how to improve the complexity of your writing
  • learn how to increase your overall writing proficiency
  • enhance your intercultural competence in English academic writing

The ELLWC is closed whenever the university is closed, including closings due to inclement weather.
