- Start from scratch. We do not recommend you use a template. Your resume is one of the most important tools you will create in your job search.
- Attend appointment/drop-in
- Schedule a meeting using your Handshake profile. Each Career Advisor works with a specific field of interest or discipline to assist you on your journey.
- Attend a fair or prep session/meet the fairs
- Hear from employers and career advisors on how to prepare for and navigate the fair.
- Participate in job shadow/informational interview
- Explore the world of work through a one day experience with a Career Center-endorsed employer.
- Attend career trek
- Visit various types of companies, from global to startups, and learn how the future of work is impacting daily operations.
- Go to a JUMPSTART session
- Get the inside scoop of three important puzzle pieces to help you navigate your career journey.
“Need to prepare for an internship, job, or graduate school”
- Attend an Interviewing for Success workshop
- Learn the fabric and components of an interview, what is it all about, and also, strategic approach, techniques, and resources to win your next interview.
- Attend fair or prep session
- Hear from employers and career advisors on how to prepare for and navigate the fair.
- Attend appointment/drop-in
- Meet with a trained Peer Career Coach to have your cover letter, resume or LinkedIn profile reviewed.
- Upload an updated resume in Handshake
- Your resume should be updated as you move through school. Make sure the most recent version is uploaded to your Handshake.
- Attend a CCES workshop (resume, linked in, internship prep) or take EDL 302

“Am ready to connect with opportunities”
- Go to an employer-hosted information session
- Connect with employers from across the country who are recruiting college students and want to teach you more about their company and opportunities.
- Register an internship in Handshake
- Complete the internship form no matter whether the internship experience is credit-bearing or non-credit-bearing, paid or unpaid or occurs during the academic year, winter term or summer term.
- Complete a mock interview
- Gain real-world interviewing experience with both seasoned professionals and trained peers.
- Attend a Career Fair
- A combination of workshops and recruiting events throughout spring semester to help you explore career options, prepare for your job search, and connect with organizations to land your dream job or internship.
- Attend a workshop about post college options (job search, gap year, grad school).
