Connecting Across All Career Clusters

What occupational and industry options are found in each career cluster? How do organizations fit into the career clusters? What is networking and how do you make connections and professionally network?

Learn & Practice

3:30-4:00pm

  • Learn go-to questions for having meaningful conversations with professionals
  • Practice your elevator pitch before the networking session
  • Use career cluster information to lead you in your job/internship search
  • Discover which career cluster representatives would be good connections for you

Network & Explore

4:00-6:00pm

  • Introductions from President Crawford and Jen Benz, AVP for the Center for Career Exploration and Success
  • Check out the Students Exploring information table if you are unsure which cluster is right for you
  • Actively network and practice your elevator pitch
  • Expand your contacts by meeting new professionals

Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Stop by at 3:30pm for our Networking Lab to learn and practice your elevator pitch and prepare questions to ask the career cluster representatives. 

Learn how the career clusters and connections can assist in your future internship or full-time job search.

Meet and engage with representatives from each of the career clusters.

Introductions will start at 4:00pm with remarks by Dr. Crawford and Jen Benz, AVP of the Center for Career Exploration and Success.

Encourage your student to seek out new experiences. Diverse experiences will help prepare students for the future of work. 
Connect your student to information about career paths. Understanding how their interests align to the career clusters can connect students to job opportunities, develop their professional skills and create a strong network. Students need encouragement and motivation to navigate the process.
