As a Senior Assistant Director, I collaborate with various members of the campus community to help students persist and graduate. I am a Student Success Advocate for third- and fourth-year students.
I am currently developing pilot learning communities for Miami’s Bridges Scholars and first-generation students. Additionally, I work with Spring Admits, first-year students who are offered the opportunity to take a gap semester between high school and their Miami collegiate career to pursue meaningful intellectual, civic, or social experiences—including taking classes at a local community college or regional institution—prior to arriving in Oxford in late January.
Before coming to Miami, I was with Cincinnati Youth Collaborative where I served as vice president for college access and success programs; I have also served as director of multicultural affairs offices at both the University of Dayton and the College of Mount St. Joseph. College access and success are very important to me, and I have worked extensively with underserved students whose exposure to college is very limited.
Although I am new to this position, I am not new to Miami and am a very proud alumnus with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration. Additionally, I have a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a Doctor of Education, both from the University of Cincinnati. I am also a Cincinnati native.
