I joined the Student Success Center as a Senior Assistant Director in August 2017. In my role, I collaborate with a number of campus partners to support the retention and success of students across campus. I supervise the GradU8 Scholars program, advise the Miami Firsts student organization, and work closely with other departments to help support initiatives focused on the success and retention of all Miami students.

Prior to joining the Miami University community, I served as the Program Coordinator for TRIO Student Support Services at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Federal TRIO programs support the retention and success of college students who are Pell-eligible, first-generation, or have a disability. Previously, I served in two other federal TRIO programs at institutions in Ohio and West Virginia. I began my career holding various teaching and administrative positions in Columbus City Schools and Gallia County Local Schools in Ohio. The school-to-college pipeline, supporting the success of traditionally underserved student populations, and social justice are a few of my professional passions.

I hold a doctorate in Education Administration with a focus in Comparative and International Educational Leadership from Ohio University. My research focuses on culturally responsive leadership, education in Appalachia, critical pedagogy, and qualitative methodology. I also hold a Master’s of Education in Cultural Studies with a Women’s and Gender Studies certificate from Ohio University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from The Ohio State University.
