Understanding Conditional Admission

The English Language Center Explained

The English Language Center (ELC) program is located on Miami University's regional campus in Middletown, Ohio. The ELC program provides students with a safe and optimal learning environment to increase their English proficiency skills. Students with the following test scores may be considered for Conditional Admission through the ELC program.

  • Duolingo < 90
  • ELS 109 Certificate

Students who enter the ELC program will be tested into one of three ELC language levels. Each level takes approximately one semester (4 months) to complete. Once a student has completed Level 3 in the ELC program with a B or higher, the student will then begin the ACE-G program on Miami University's main campus.
