Scholarships & Awards

Assistance is available and awarded to graduate students by the individual programs on the expectation of academic promise. Miami University offers a wide variety of assistantships, spanning from Residence Hall assistants to Teaching associates.  All graduate students receiving assistantships receive remission of 93% of the comprehensive fee and the full out-of-state tuition surcharge (if applicable) for the length of their appointment.  Assistantships for masters students can be renewed for a second year and doctoral students can be renewed for a total of four years, or six years if admitted directly into a doctoral program.  For additional information on graduate assistantships, see Part 3: Information for Graduate Award Holders in the Handbook for Graduate Students and Faculty under Forms and Publications.

All graduate students pay the info services fee, the metro fee, and facilities fee. Because awards vary with each program, check with your program for specific amounts and responsibilities of the award.  The Office of the Bursar can provide up-to-date information on tuition and fees and answer specific questions.
