House Decorating Contest Judging

The annual Homecoming House Decorating Contest is time for the students of Miami University to use their creative ideas and spirits to decorate the fraternity houses, student houses of Oxford and residence halls to help celebrate Miami University’s Homecoming! This fun and exciting competition brings together students of all years in their celebration of Miami’s Homecoming! With a prize incentive, students can use this year’s Homecoming theme as an inspiration when decorating their houses and residence halls in order to see who shares the best Homecoming spirit! Presented by the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF), the Homecoming House Decorating Contest is long-standing tradition at Miami University, and is a great way for students to get competitive and showcase their Miami spirit!

Head Uptown for a free concert in the park. The concert lineup features two Indie Rock & Pop bands: Coastal Club and Modern Aquatic. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the show.

Start off your homecoming weekend right by putting your Miami knowledge to the test! Groups of up to six are permitted, and winning team receives a prize!

Homecoming Huddle

7 pm, Uptown Park (Rain location: Wilks Theater, Armstrong Student Center)

Come celebrate Homecoming with live music, food, games, and giveaways. Alumni, stop by the Huddle when you arrive in town to pick-up a fun Miami University Alumni giveaway! You'll also have a chance to meet the 2017 Homecoming Court! Live music by The Bundys will begin at 8 pm.

T-Shirt Swap: Swap a t-shirt from another school for a 2017 Homecoming shirt at the Huddle. Collected shirts will be donated to hurricane relief.

8 pm, Uptown Park (Rain location: Wilks Theater, Armstrong Student Center)

Presented by the Performing Arts Series in collaboration with Late Night Miami, Miami Activities and Programming and Enjoy Oxford. Cincinnati natives. Miami alums. Now, Nashville transplants. Cincinnati natives. Miami alums. Now, Nashville transplants. The Bundy siblings are bringing a slice of acoustic Americana to Miami’s Homecoming Weekend celebration. While influenced by the likes of Mumford and Sons and The Civil Wars, The Bundys found their own sound by throwing musical genres out the window. Join us for a night of beautiful folk harmonies that will stop you in your tracks.

This event is free and open to the public.

Love and Honor 5K

9 am, Begins at Slant Walk

Celebrate our beautiful campus and the community of Miami University as you walk or run in the Homecoming Love & Honor 5K! This run, hosted by the Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF), helps raise money for student scholarships at Miami University. As an active participant, you'll have the chance to run along paths both familiar and new, as well as check out Miami's beautiful campus along the way!


Oxford Farmers' Market

9 am–Noon, Uptown Park

More than just produce, this award winning Farmers' Market has baked goods, little sprout kids activities, and artisan wares. Our market is a staple of the Oxford community, join us!

MOVE Bootcamp

10:30–11:30 am, Lewis Place

MOVE stands for Miami and Oxford Value Exercise because we do! The Crawfords are opening up their home for this free community event. Bring a water bottle and a positive attitude, and make sure to wear comfortable clothes!

Engage in mindfulness and other practices designed to impact attention, awareness and well-being with Dr. Suzanne Klatt, director of Miami's Mindfulness and Contemplative Inquiry Center.

Higher Ed’s Not in the Business You Think It Is
Are Tesla and Elon Musk just selling cars? Is Uber just in the taxi business? Much like these companies, higher ed isn't in the business you think it is. Dr. Glenn Platt, C. Michael Armstrong professor of interactive media studies and founding director of the Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies, will explain.

The Psychology of Harry Potter: Resilience and Identity Development
Delve into developmental psychology theories and Harry Potter with Dr. Elizabeth J. Kiel, associate professor of psychology. This session will introduce theories to contextualize the development of Harry, Voldemort and other characters, focusing on the roles that risk and protective factors play in the formation of identity and resilience to adversity.

Meet up with other alumni before the game for food, fun, games, and special Miami University Alumni Association giveaways. The Homecoming Alumni ticket package includes game ticket, and food and drinks at the tailgate. Register by September 8, 2017.
