Kick The Nic For Happy Lungs

Come out and support the National Great American Smokeout®, here on Miami’s campus!

What is the Great American Smokeout®?

  • A national day of support, hosted by the American Cancer Society, for those looking to quit tobacco, kick a nicotine habit, or support others in their journey to a tobacco-free life.
  • At Miami we use this day to raise awareness for our Tobacco-Free policy and share campus-wide resources for those looking to quit or cut back.
  • Together Miami joins thousands around the country in sharing the latest tobacco use research (health risks and cessation tools) for e-cigarettes, juuling, smoking, chewing tobacco, and more.

How can I take part?

  • Take the online #KickTheNic pledge for happy lungs
  • Stop by the Tobacco-Free Miami resource tables for a free laptop sticker and a chance to win a free Rec Center group fitness class pass
  • Make a quit plan for yourself or encourage someone you know to make a quit plan for juuling or tobacco use. Even quitting for one day can make a difference and start your journey to “kick the nic” for good.

When and Where?

We will be celebrating on two different dates:

  • Wednesday, November 20, 2019, 11 am to 2 pm: Armstrong Student Center Tables
  • Thursday, November 21, 2019, 11 am to 2 pm: The Seal (or back in armstrong if rain or snow)

Who?

Miami University Employee Benefits & Wellness Team, The Haven at College, Student Wellness Advocacy Team (SWAT), and Rec Center invite any Miami students, faculty, and staff to take part in this event. All are welcome!
