Resolving Workplace Conflict

Today’s higher education environment presents new and growing challenges:  the need to increase productivity and efficiency, improve quality, and reduce costs.  An unfortunate, but natural, by-product of these challenges is conflict.  Asking people to do more with less and to partner with others in new and changing ways inevitably creates pressures that can put people into conflict with one another.  Allowing conflict to go unaddressed can have serious consequences on morale, engagement and productivity. How you, as a leader, recognize and deal with such conflict can go a long way toward ensuring that your work group and the organization continue to operate smoothly and achieve the business objectives.

Resolving Workplace Conflict covers the three stages of conflict and how you can keep conflict in your work group from becoming a divisive force that saps your team’s focus and energy. Dates and times for this course are available in Miami Learn.

Note: Communicating for Leadership Success or Communicating with Impact is a recommended prerequisite course that should be taken before this course.
