Describe the problem you are attempting to solve and your approach for solving that problem:
We currently offer Chromebooks for loan periods of 4 days. These have been very popular. We would like to offer a group of Chromebooks that patrons can check out for four weeks at a time. This would serve to support students who are getting their own laptop repaired or don't have access to a laptop for some other reason.
How would you describe the innovation and/or the significance of your project:
These Chromebooks will be managed using Google's new "Zero Touch Enrollment" system. This allows for the management of the Chromebooks without having to physically reconfigure the device. This system enables us to remote lock and manage the devices which makes a long-term loan program practical.
How will you assess the success of the project?
We will assess this project using circulation statistics from the library catalog.
There is no continuing cost to this program.
