From the ISO: Update your Apple devices now

The Information Security Office highly recommends that Apple device users in the Miami community update their devices to the latest version.

The latest update, which was released by Apple this week, includes security patches that users need to install sooner rather than later. A major vulnerability (zero-day exploit) has been identified in Apple devices, including computers (macOS), watches (watchOS), iPhones (iOS), and iPads.

The security flaws allow malicious actors to exploit Apple Wallet.

For your devices, please make sure you have updated them to the latest versions:

  • iPhone: iOS 16.6.1
  • iPad: iPadOS 16.6.1
  • Apple Watch: watchOS 9.6.2
  • Computer: macOS 13.5.2

This is a great reminder that installing upgrades and patches for your various operating systems is always a good idea. Not only do these updates usually include new cool features and capabilities, but they also regularly contain security patches that keep you and your devices safe.
