We are proud of our hard work in this area – but recognize that there is always more work to be done. Direction from leadership is integral, but it’s also true that the folks in IT are genuinely committed to breaking down barriers and lifting each other up.

"In interviews I'm involved in, candidates often ask ‘Why Miami’, noted David Seidl, vice president for IT Services and CIO. “My answer is easy - because of the amazing community.”

The IT department at Miami is full of folks who work every day to create a more secure, technologically innovative, and future-focused university. Computerworld is just reaffirming what we already know about our workplace.

“Since my first day in IT Services I've known how awesome, supportive, caring, and dedicated folks here are. It's easy to understand why each year IT Services and Miami make it to the national stage,” said Seidl.

Seidl isn’t the only one singing the praises of IT at Miami. “We genuinely have a group of people who care about IT Services (and the university). Who are devoted to our success. That's what makes this a great place to work,” says Donna Amrhein, director of IT Business Services.

This recognition wouldn’t be possible without incredible leadership, including from David Seidl, the Leadership Team, and all of our wonderful managers. It doubly wouldn’t be possible without all the amazing people who come to work in IT every day striving to support Miami.

We have a stupendous reputation within Miami University, and now even way outside our hallowed red brick walls. I like that being able to note the Best Places to Work award is something we can share with prospective employees that may be looking for a wonderful, forward leaning organization. And it is so nice to know that I get to work side by side with dedicated folks of the caliber to earn such a distinction.”

Since 1994, the annual Best Places to Work in IT feature has ranked the top work environments for technology professionals. This year the Best Places to work in IT is brought to you by Computerworld.

The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, DEI, future of work, training and retention. In addition, this year, the rankings are reviewed and vetted by a panel of industry experts.

Seidl finished up by saying, “I'm so very proud of IT Services for being named a Best Place to Work in IT for the third year running! Congratulations to all of the folks who make this a great place to work!"
