The Chronicle’s “The (College) Presidential Fitness Test” spotlights college presidents and their workouts

Miami University President Gregory Crawford, as well as the presidents of Spalding University in Kentucky and Oberlin College in Ohio, allowed the Chronicle reporter to tag along on their workouts. “The experience is an exercise (get it?) in understanding this intimate part of their day — and what it says about the modern college presidency.”

The Chronicle’s “The (College) Presidential Fitness Test” spotlights college presidents and their workouts

Miami University President Gregory “Crawford and I have just returned from a 22-mile bike ride, a run up the stairs in the football stadium, and a brief weightlifting session. This is how Crawford starts his day as a college president,” Chronicle reporter Katie Hildago Bellows writes.

“You just have so much on your mind — what has to get done, what you have to accomplish on that particular day. For me, I get up, I do this, and it actually gives me a sense of calm. And it just helps me get started,” President Crawford said.
