Miami University student Nick Kaplan selected for NSF Graduate Research Fellowship
Nick Kaplan, a Chemical and Biomedical Engineering student in Miami's College of Engineering and Computing, has recently received the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship to support his future graduate research.

Tech Fee call for proposals coming in August
Since 2009, Miami faculty, staff, and students have developed innovative and exciting projects with over $6 million of awarded funds. This year the application period will begin on Monday, August 15.

Professor Jason Boock receives $200,000 grant from National Science Foundation
Professor Jason Boock recently received a $200,000 grant from the National Science Foundation for his project proposal titled, "ERI: Development of Non-native Sigma Factors for Metabolic Engineering."

Winners of the HWC's Spring Writing Contest
Results are in for the Howe Writing Center's Spring 2022 creative non-fiction writing contest, Luck + Chance. Meredith Perkins (Creative Writing and Diplomacy and Global Politics) took first-prize honors. Runner-up was Sofia Rakic (Psychology and Philosophy) with Olivia Kelly (Linguistics and Spanish) in third place. Graduate student, JoAnn Su, (Health, Education, and Society) earned staff choice recognition.

Miami professor awarded Fulbright Scholar to study structural integrity of alloy metals
Miami University's Carter Hamilton received a Fulbright Scholar award to teach and research in Poland. He will study the material behavior of metals and their properties as they relate to welding techniques.
