Miami's Climate Action Task Force seeks student representative: Apply by Oct. 18

Opportunity to help shape Miami’s Climate Action Plan

shideler-globeMiami’s new Climate Action Task Force (CATF) executive steering committee is seeking students to apply for the position of student representative.

The student representative will serve a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.

Applications submitted will be reviewed by CATF co-chairs Adam Sizemore, director of sustainability, and Jonathan Levy, director of the Institute of Environment and Sustainability.

Appointment Expectations: 
  • Provide assistance, guidance and recommendations to CATF co-chairs and executive steering committee members.
  • Communicate CATF progress with the student body and campus stakeholders.
  • Attend CATF meetings.
  • Commitment (voluntary) for ongoing and sometimes complex work.
  • Work with each member of the CATF Executive Steering Committee to search, recommend and appoint at least one student to each subcommittee.

The Student Representative should have an understanding of Second Nature's President’s Climate Leadership Commitments (PCLC) requirements and expectations. These requirement will guide the CATF in forming a Climate Action Plan.
