Wil Haygood to give talk on latest book about U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall
Miami University Karl and Helen Wiepking Visiting Distinguished Professor Wil Haygood will deliver a special presentation about his new book, Showdown: Thurgood Marshall and the Supreme Court Nomination That Changed America 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, in the Wilks Theater, Armstrong Student Center.

Miami Hamilton's Colligan History Project partners with Mad Anthony Theatre Company
The Michael J. Colligan History Project will be partnering with the Mad Anthony Theatre Company at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts to sponsor a series of three plays, each touching on different aspects of American history. In advance of these performances, the Colligan series “Staging the Past” comprises three original public events exploring the historical context for each play.

Miami's oldest foreign exchange program looking to expand
Miami University welcomed a delegation from Kansai Gaidai University in Japan this week, including President Yoshitaka Tanimoto. Discussions focused on ways to expand the existing student exchange program - one of Miami's oldest.

Homecoming contest brings in 249 pounds of canned food
The first office homecoming decorating contest and food drive was held last week. The overall winner - the Oxford Community Choice Pantry - will receive 249 pounds of canned food.

In memoriam: Ronald Hansel
Ronald "Ronnie" S. Hansel, 61, of Eaton, died suddenly at his home Monday, Sept. 21. He worked as a master plumber for many years at Miami University.
