Sign-ups for the 2015 Welcome Back Walkabout house visits are well underway, but more volunteers are needed to share practical information, a smile and cookies to Miami students living in Oxford.

U.S. 27 onto Chestnut Street closes for 30 days starting Aug. 24
The two-year project to widen and resurface a mile of U.S. Route 27 between Southpointe Road and Chestnut Street brings a temporary barrier to Chestnut that is estimated to begin Aug. 24.

Powering down succeeded: Miami reduces electric load
Miami's physical facilities department thanks the Oxford campus for reducing electric use during a test period, noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4. "We achieved our goal for reducing our electric load," said Doug Hammerle, director of energy systems for Miami.

Miami students spend their summer helping others
