Families welcome for weekend of fun at Miami

Families enjoy Miami football during the 2012 Family Weekend.

Miami University’s Family Weekend (Oct. 4-6) highlights include comedian Jim Gaffigan and RedHawk football vs. Central Michigan as students welcome parents, siblings, and others for several days of activities.

Friday, Oct. 4

Family Weekend Kickoff Event, 3-7 p.m. at Oxford’s Uptown Parks

Hillel Shabbat Services and Dinner, 6-7 p.m. at Beerman Hillel Center, 11 E. Walnut St.

MUSF Auction and Dinner, 6:30-9:30 pm at Shriver Center Heritage Room

The Miami University Student Foundation dinner and auction raises money for student scholarships. Silent Auction: 6:30, Dinner: 7:30, Live Auction: 8:30.? Purchase tickets, $45, on the Miami Alumni website.

Miami Football vs. Central Michigan, 1 p.m. at Yager Stadium

RedHawk fans can receive a special ticket package for the Central Michigan game at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in Yager Stadium.

For $60 fans will receive four tickets, four Miami baseball caps, four vouchers for popcorn, a coupon book and a Miami Bookstore discount. This offer is valid until 6 p.m.  Friday, Oct. 4. To receive this offer, call the ticket office at 513-529-4295 or click to purchase tickets online.

Miami Traditions Touchdown Buffet, 5-7 p.m., Alexander, Martin, Harris and Erickson dining centers

Jim Gaffigan comedic performance, 8:30 p.m. at Millett Hall
Known for Hot Pockets, bacon and the funny parts of parenting, Jim Gaffigan is one of the hottest comedians currently touring. Tickets are no longer available.

Join the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and student leaders for a chance to learn more about Greek Life while enjoying some great food. Tickets are $10 per person and are available for purchase at Miami’s box office.
