Work started last week to prepare Laws Hall for the new department of sport leadership & management (SLAM). SLAM is now the third largest department in the College of Education, Health and Society, serving over 700 majors and minors.
In his end-of-year address, President Greg Crawford thanked the Miami University community for moving the university forward, despite the global pandemic.
Jason Lane, dean of the School of Education and professor of Educational Policy & Leadership at the University at Albany, will become dean of Miami Universitys College of Education, Health and Society (EHS) on June 1.
He will succeed Michael Dantley, who has been the EHS dean since June 2015. Dantley is retiring at the end of December. An interim dean will be appointed soon and will serve from Jan. 1 through May 31.

This winter term, Miami University will offer MiamiConnects Virtual Global Learning, its first fully developed virtual study abroad program. MiamiConnects offers online workshops that let students engage with different kinds of communities.
