Miami Holiday Project still needs your help

The donation deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 4.

There are two weeks left for the Miami Holiday Project to meet its goal of $10,000. So far, $4,718 has been raised.

The annual project, sponsored by Miami’s Classified Personnel Advisory Committee and Unclassified Personnel Advisory Committee, accepts donations for holiday gifts for children under court supervision, many due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. The donation deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Meeting the $10,000 goal will allow for approximately $100 to be spent on each child.

All donations should be sent or brought to Miami Holiday Project, c/o Anita Sackenheim, 106 Phillips Hall, 420 S. Oak St., Oxford, OH 45056

More ways to help

The Holiday Project needs more volunteers to help shop for gifts at 6 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Meijer Hamilton West. Also, volunteers are needed 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Dec. 9-12, at the Phillips Hall racquetball courts to sort items and put the correct items into the red, Santa bags.

Gift basket raffle winners chosen

Miami’s Classified Personnel Advisory Committee raised $1,048 for the project from its gift basket raffles. The winners are:

  • Ricardo Maduro, basket with donations from various Miami departments.
  • Misty Barrett, basket with items/gift certificates from Oxford vendors.
  • Debbie Boston, Regionals basket.
