Post-Exposure Plan

Miami University is mandated by the Ohio Public Employment Risk Reduction Act to comply with adopted regulations set forth by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The Bloodborne Pathogens regulation requires that the employer provide a post exposure evaluation and follow-up to an employee who has experienced an exposure incident. The Environmental Health and Safety Office has developed this Post Exposure Evaluation and Follow-up Plan to assist in communicating, conducting, and documenting information and procedures as required by law.

It is very important that the following instructions contained herein are thoroughly read and your respective responsibilities understood. Miami University is required to maintain information in this plan for thirty (30) years beyond the employee’s last day of employment. Therefore, all forms must be completed accurately and thoroughly by all persons involved.
