This area requires a second course at the 300/400 level. If you complete ENG229, this course will meet the 300/400 level requirement. An ENG2XX course and ENG229 will earn 6 credits toward this requirement. Additional courses count as electives in the EGS major if not counted elsewhere.

ENG240 Women's Literature

Multicultural Perspectives (6 credits). You can count this course (3 credits) toward this requirement. 

Students completing the AA General at Stark State College earn between 60-63 credit hours that transfer to Miami University. Students completing the Ohio Transfer Module through their General Education credits will have completed Miami Plan Foundation I, II, III, IV, V, and the Miami Plan Thematic Sequence.

At Miami University, transfer students who complete the Ohio Transfer Module will still need to complete: Intercultural Perspectives (3 credits), Experiential Learning (o credits), and Capstone (3 credits). These credits can be earned through completion of the major in English Studies. They will need to complete a total of 61-64 hours to reach the 124 required for the BA depending on what they have earned at Stark State College.

Table 4 shows how a student completes the English Studies major having completed up to 18 of the required 36 credit hours through their coursework at Stark State College. The table is merely a guide; student choices while at Stark State College may require changes to how the student completes the degree at Miami University. In addition to the courses listed here, students will be expected to complete the required hours for graduation with a baccalaureate degree. Students are expected to meet with an advis.or to discuss course selection and planning.
