Encouraging student involvement and participation in purposeful group activities, the Office of Student Activities works to facilitate leadership development and encourage student growth through a variety of programs, services, and activities. It also maintains a complete listing of Miami registered student organizations.
Leadership opportunities, philanthropic projects, and community service are just some of the benefits provided by membership in the Fraternity/Sorority Community at Miami, host to over 50 fraternity and sorority chapters. The Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life works to plan and deliver purposeful and intentional programs, policies, events, workshops, and other opportunities.
This endowed institute is committed to promoting community-based learning experiences that prepare students to become engaged public leaders and informed global citizens. To this end, the institute sponsors civic engagement programs, including courses focused on public engagement and community learning, a high school leadership program, international leadership capacity development, engaged scholarship, and a series of speakers and symposiums promoting leadership for the public good.
Service learning is a powerful tool that enhances learning by engaging students in relevant community service. Student participants are given the opportunity to learn and develop as citizens through active participation in thoughtfully organized service experiences that meet vital community needs. The service opportunities are coordinated in collaboration with a course curriculum and the service site.
