GLBTQ Services

LGBTQ History Month

October is LGBTQ history month, a time to learn about and recognize the impact and contributions of LGBTQ invdividuals and the community on our world.

The mission of GLBTQ Services is to help realize Miami University’s mission of being an engaged university. As a student-centered unit we share an unwavering commitment to creating a community of engaged scholars that is open, safe, affirming, and inclusive for people of all sexualities, gender identities and gender expressions.

To achieve this we provide educational outreach, programming, support, and resources intended to raise awareness about concepts related to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer  (GLBTQ) individuals and issues. Through education, training, and intentional conversation(s), we endeavor to eliminate homophobic, transphobic, and heterosexist attitudes and behaviors and to increase the number of active allies. As a unit of the Office of Diversity Affairs, GLBTQ Services assists the university in establishing an environment committed to diversity.

This means you are welcome just as you are and long as we can all be who we are!

Love. Honor. Pride.
