Residence Life Receives Inclusive Excellence Award

The office of residence life received the ICA Inclusive Excellence Award for their everyday efforts in creating an inclusive living-learning environment for students who reside on campus.

The award, presented by the office of the president, office of institutional diversity, and intercollegiate athletics, recognizes members of the Miami community who work to advance diversity and inclusion. The award was announced and presented during halftime at the September 7, 2019 Homecoming football game.

“We are committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments for every resident that we house as well as within our organizational culture,” said Vicka Bell-Robinson, director of residence life. “Living on campus provides students with one of the few times in their lives that they will be surrounded by others who are approximately the same age and trying to accomplish approximately the same goals. We welcome the opportunity to assist students in engaging in conversations and interactions that foster a greater understanding of the world around them.”
