Global Friendship Day

Program Overview

Date: Wednesday, August 19, 2020

Global Friendship Day is a 1-day pre-semester program focused on building intercultural relationships.

First-year students from the US are invited to join new international students in the first week of the semester and continue building their relationship throughout the year. International and domestic students are expected to learn from one another, sharing experiences focused on common interests while exploring their different perspectives. If you are interested in intercultural perspectives and building international friendships, this is the program for you!

This year’s event will also serve as the kick-off for Global Buddies.

Time, place, and details about Global Friendship Day will be released closer to the start of the semester.

Please note those living on campus should plan to move-in on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

Program Cost

Participants should also plan to cover the cost of lunch with their new global friends (expect $7-$20 for a meal in Oxford).

Program Activities

The program will begin with a welcome on Wednesday morning, followed by a full day of activities. Program participants will connect with one another through group activities that explore their common interests and differing perspectives.
