Testing Center Procedures

Test proctoring is available on each Miami campus, as a service to faculty. You are welcome to use the Testing Center to proctor exams for students who have approved accommodations through Student Disability Services (SDS). As an alternative to using Testing Center services, you may choose to proctor your own exams. Please ensure you can provide the requested accommodations before proctoring exams.

Students using testing services are required to submit exam requests at least 2 business days in advance. When an exam request is approved by the Testing Center, you will receive email confirmation. This confirmation will include exam scheduling detail and exam upload instructions.

Proctored exams are monitored by closed circuit camera. Cell phone, smart watches, backpacks and other personal belongings are not permitted in the testing rooms. Students are advised to schedule exams within the same timeframe that the exam is being given in class, unless an alternate agreement in made with faculty.

Testing Center Agreement

In some instances you may be asked to complete a Testing Center Agreement. If applicable, this information will be included when you receive the Faculty Notification Letter. You will be prompted to complete an agreement for each course section you are teaching with at least one student who is eligible for a testing accommodation.

The purpose of the agreement is to provide testing center staff with pertinent information necessary to proctor exams. Only one agreement needs to be completed for each course section. The provided information pertains to all affiliated SDS students enrolled in the course section. You can review or modify the agreement by visiting your SAM: Students Accessing Miami Faculty Portal or contacting the testing center on your campus.
