Prior Knox Award Winners - 1995-2012

Between 1995-2012, the Knox Award winners were selected by the Center for Teaching Excellence committee by examining the nominees’ teaching portfolios. Teaching portfolios require the nominee to write a reflective statement explaining their approach to teaching to teaching and provide appendix items which provide examples of and evidence for the reflective statement. This reflective process is often seen as valuable by the nominees.

Between 2013-2015, the E. Phillips Knox Award was combined with the University's Teaching Excellence awards to provide Distinguished Teaching Awards. A Distinguished Teaching Award was given for each of four faculty ranks: Full Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, and Lecturer.  The ranks for awardees listed are at the time of selection and may not reflect subsequent promotions.
