Leverage Information and Data

The Information and Cybersecurity Management Major provides managerial perspective and technical skills to create, control, protect, and leverage information and data resources of an organization. The major contains two concentrations. One is an Information Systems concentration focusing on the systems, processes and technologies organizations use to manage the information assets of the organizations. The Cybersecurity Management concentration is a managerial focus on cybersecurity and risk management that organizations seek in all of their business units. Both tracks are a solid foundation of technical understanding delivered from a managerial perspective to enable students to contribute quickly to problem solving in Information and Cybersecurity Management in organizational settings.

The Information and Cybersecurity Management Major provides managerial perspective and technical skills needed to create, control, protect, and leverage information and data resources of an organization. The major focuses on foundational theory and practice in content areas such as business process management, database, data communications, cybersecurity, systems analysis & development, information risk management, and project management. The major also addresses contemporary topics including cloud computing, mobile commerce, enterprise systems, business intelligence, data mining, and big data management. It emphasizes the application of technology, information, and cybersecurity risk management skills to solving business problems.

Graduates with a major in Information and Cybersecurity Management may pursue careers in data analytics, consulting, IT development, and risk analysis.
