English Literature

(18 semester hours)


The English Literature minor allows you to study what you love—and prepares you for the work that you will love! In dynamic discussion-based classes, you will analyze and discuss the forms of cultural expression that matter to you most: poems, novels, comics, plays, and films. In courses with award-winning faculty, you will be challenged, provoked, and inspired. The minor in Literature is an excellent preparation for diverse careers in an ever-changing job market. Open to all majors.


A minimum 2.0 g.p.a. is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). When you begin this minor, you must register with the chief departmental adviser for English and continue to check your progress with the adviser at least once a year until you complete this minor.
