Film Studies

(18 semester hours)


The film studies minor allows students to explore the interaction between film, culture and society in interdisciplinary course work. Minors are required to study film history, film theory and four additional courses, which can be in film genres, directors, national cinemas, production, or others.


A minimum 2.0 g.p.a. is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult consult with Dr. Kerry Hegarty (, Area Coordinator of Film Studies.
