A leaderamong leaders
Alhaji Bah ’14
Mechanical Engineering Major
Mechanical engineering major Alhaji Bah spent a lot of time on his studies. But certainly not all of it. He was an RA, he participated in the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute, and he even brought a new student organization to Miami — the National Society of Black Engineers.
Alhaji wasn't afraid of hard work. Take, for example, his choice of favorite professor: without hesitation he attested that the professor he most appreciated was the one who challenged him the most. That commitment to hard work meant that even among leadership students in the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute, Alhaji took the helm, coordinating a week-long National Engineering Week on campus.
At Miami, Alhaji learned to lead — even among a team of students dedicated to leadership. Because at Miami, he said, he gained book smarts and people smarts. He learned to solve problems and work as a team. And that is a combination for success.
