Sandy Steiger

Sandy earned her Master's degree at Miami in statistics after graduating with a Bachelor's from Mount St. Joseph University in mathematics and business. She worked in industry for fifteen years, most recently as the Vice President of Insights at 84.51° before joining CADS in April 2019. She has vast experience in driving customer value through industry-leading data science techniques.

Amy Beissel

Amy joined CADS in February 2020. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Towson University (Maryland) and a Master’s degree in Education from Canisius College (New York). She spent over ten years in education, with the past two and a half years at Butler County Educational Service Center as the Data & Monitoring Coordinator. She is experienced in interpreting and using data to make sound decisions as well as leading analytics projects.

Kevin Park

Kevin graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics as well Master's degree in Biostatistics from Emory University (Georgia). Before joining CADS in October 2020, Kevin was a Senior Statistician at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis. He brings with him strong industry knowledge as well as experience in developing course curriculum.

Melissa Johnston

 

After two years at Miami's Office of the Controller, Melissa joined CADS as our Administrative Assistant in November 2019. Melissa is tasked with helping CADS in numerous ways. Eric Bachmann

Dr. Eric Bachmann

Professor and Chair

Computer Science and Software Engineering

Dr. Eric Bachmann is the Chair for the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. His current research focuses on human factors and training in virtual environments (VE), enabling immersed VE users to explore virtual worlds of unlimited size, and locomotion interfaces for VE. He has also worked on establishing the HIVE (huge immersive virtual environment), a state-of-the-art VE facility at Miami. 


John Bailer

Dr. A. John Bailer

University Distinguished Professor and Chair

Department of Statistics

Dr. John Bailer is the Chair of the Department of Statistics. As a frequent instructor of data practicum classes, he mentors students on research projects for clients in business, industry, government and academia. His research interest include addressing risk estimation issues and, more generally, on the design and analysis of studies to evaluate factors impacting occupational and environmental health outcomes.


Allison Jones-Farmer

Dr. Allison Jones-Farmer

Van Andel Professor of Business Analytics

Information Systems and Analytics

Dr. Jones-Farmer teaches the business analytics practicum, predictive modeling, and regression analysis. Her research include developing statistical methods to solve real-world problems. Dr. Jones-Farmer has a passion for promoting the sound use of analytical methods in practice.


Jessica McCarty

Assistant Professor and Graduate Program Advisor

Dr. Jessica McCarty teaches on open source geospacial tools and mapping techniques. Her professional interests include using data mining, Earth observations, and GIS to better understand food security, land-use, air quality, and more.

Dr. Peter Nguyen teaches market research. He has experience in research on leveraging consumergenerated content (social media and online review posts) to better understand consumer behavior in
the real world.

Dr. Andrew Reffett is currently researching judgment and decision making research in accounting with a focus on auditing and managerial settings. He teaches courses in audit, accounting control systems, and intermediate financial accounting.
